Miss Saigon to me is a pretty good reminder that most of the cogs in the musical theatre machine are white men. While there are so many people with so many different perspectives on the war, a second-gen immigrant or a Vietnamese person is less likely to be produced than a team backed by someone like Cameron Mackintosh, and that's just how it is.
