Sabal sp. Tamaulipas is a Sabal minor on steroids growing three times as fast, having much larger leaves, and much larger seed. The 6' wide costapalmate (bends in the middle) leaves adorn the 8' tall x 12' wide clumps.

Sabal sp. Tamaulipas 'San Carlos' is our first offering of a disjunct population of the still unnamed Sabal sp. nov. Tamaulipas, from Villa Mainero, which is nearly 80 miles north of the original location of Sabal sp. Tamaulipas.

Sabal is a genus of New World palms (or fan-palms). Currently, there are 17 recognized species of Sabal, including one hybrid species. [4]

Jan 19, 2015 · Back in 2006, as part of the Southeast Palm Society Hometown Grant, I planted a couple of Sabal sp. 'Birmingham' palms in Knoxville on the UT campus. Thought I'd show the progression of one of them here, and how it is doing today.

Sabal sp. Tamaulipas is a fast-growing evergreen palm / cycad, shrub or tree with blue and green foliage. In spring cream flowers emerge. Features glaucous texture. Grows well with sun - mostly shade and regular water. Adapts to various soil conditions. Does well in rich and well-drained soil.

Oct 26, 2008 · I have a Sabal sp. 'huge leaf' (Ferguson garden) growing in our garden. It pretty much fends for itself in that it rarely gets supplemental watering or fertilizing either. About all I've done is throw some mulch around it to help control weed growth.
