Forgotten fact: the first shot in the dual-sport revolution wasn’t fired by KTM, Honda or Beta. The first of the hardcore, dirt-oriented, dual-sport bikes was an ancestor of this bike: the SWM RS500. Only it wasn’t called an SWM at the time. Back in 2006 it was the Husqvarna TE510.

Feb 25, 2021 · I have owned a 2019/2020 RS500R bike for over a year and the support from SWM is useless! Some items of course cross over from the 2010 Husky te510. Which was an awesome platform. The issues are so numerous that you will be trying to source parts for a “super rare” Italian motorcycle. Good luck!

We’ve been looking forward to our first ride on the 2019 SWM dual-sport bike for a long time now. You might not know the SWM name, but you probably know something about this bike. Back in 2011 it was known as the Husqvarna TE510.

May 13, 2015 · the SWM's engines are supposed to be the same as the old Husqvarna's (except now SWM have added twin-exhaust system, in order to reduce emissions so that the bikes will meet the new Euro-4 standard... this is why for example, the old TE510 had almost 60HP - but this new SWM500 has only 38 HP).
