Jun 11, 2009 · Can anyone confirm the proper torque spec for a gen 2 rear axle nut? Gen 1 in this thread is listed as 47 lb-ft, and the 03 SV650 service manual seems to conflict with itself stating 72.5 lb-ft in the chart on page 2-32 and 725 lb-ft (WTF?

Jul 19, 2012 · My one (3912, published 2009) lists 65NM for the rear axle nut for all models (99 - 08). Where as the 2003 Suzuki service manual I got from ebay lists 100NM for 2003 models which matches what you posted. Looking to tighten up my chain and don't want to over do it (been there done that).

Jul 7, 2010 · To answer your specific question, the sv650 is a 650cc v-twin while the R6 is a 600cc inline 4. The dyno charts are below. The v-twin makes more torque at a lower rpm which makes it more usable. The inline 4, as you pointed out, is relatively "tame" below about 8,000 rpm then changes into a different animal above that.

The bike provided a sporty though easily manageable ride. The combination of light weight, rigid chassis, strong handling, and the V-twin's strong mid-range torque appealed to beginner and experienced riders alike. The 2003 SV1000 was marketed as a bigger alternative to the second generation SV650.

At the beginning of chapter 1 - Routine maintenance and servicing, it has a list of torque settings. For the rear axle nut it has 65 Nm. It does not specify between the different models. BUT.........
