It's also largely an exaggeration (approaching a myth) that Hugo Boss had much of an influence on the look of Nazi uniforms: those uniforms were based on a universal style used by almost all armies since before WW 1, from Australia to the USA, to Japan etc.

The single oak leaf at the bottom left is for a Standartenführer (Colonel); the double is for an Oberführer (Senior Colonel). The triple oak leaf with the laurel wreath at the centre of the display is for... none other than the man himself: Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler.

Those were a part of Berlin's progression and interestingly, they're foreign SS divisions. 2 examples being the first Tank squad (11th SS Volunteer Panzergrenadier Division Nordland) and the Radio squad (33rd Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS Charlemagne), their insignia being censored too.

Apr 16, 2023 · Waffen SS camouflage patterns are already in the game on helmet covers and on that one German tanker uniform. It really shouldn't be a issue adding these uniforms. Although it is part of history I can understand why the SS insignia can offend some people. Perhaps add the SS camo uniforms without insignia?

I personally wouldn't care as I don't make any connection between people wearing a historical uniform and their political beliefs, in my book you can wear whatever you want and still be a nice person. But I suspect some people would feel differently, especially if you include the swastika and SS insignia.

The SS were an ideologically motivated force and an integral part of the Nazi Party so consolidating all military power around them would ensure loyalty and ideological purity throughout the Reich's forces.
