The SKS (Russian: Самозарядный карабин системы Симонова, romanized: Samozaryadny karabin sistemy Simonova, lit. 'self-loading carbine of the Simonov system') is a semi-automatic rifle designed by Soviet small arms designer Sergei Gavrilovich Simonov in the 1940s.

I had a cherry 59/66 sitting around waiting for me to find the elusive z-rak m89 optic in order to make a repro of the the sks dmr rifle used in the bosnian war. I have an original, real deal sniper that was imported, but it's setup for the m77 optic which is nearly impossible to find.

Feb 18, 2020 · I put a ZRAK M89 scope on a Yugoslavian 59/66 rifle some years ago as a clone of the so called " field expedient 59/66 DMR SKS". It has very nice ergos in eye relief and cheekweld. With M67 ammunition it is a very capable shooter.

Mar 24, 2024 · The field expedient Yugoslavian SKS DMR rifles as pictured above., are very good and accurate shooters. The mounts and ZRAK scopes work well. The Zastava SKS and ammunition they used was quite accurate as well.

I replaced the rings to some with the appropriate hight, and added my bipod. I'm not sure I'll keep the bipod on because it adds a bunch of extra weight but I do like how it looks and the additional functionality.

SKS for Locker and Metro spamming, SVD-12 for every other situation. Since i like to spam i usually use the ACE due to the mag capacity. I use the SVD because it’s it’s accuracy. Long range, Scar-H SV and mk11, middle range M39 or SVD-12, shorter ranges SKS and QBU-88.
