When the JAS 39 Gripen was introduced in the Air Force, ten SK 37 were converted into ECM aircraft (Electronic Counter Measures) and got the designation SK 37E. The ECM operator uses the rear cockpit.

This kit is the latest release for the Electronic Warfare Aggressor two-seat variant, the Saab SK 37E Stor-Viggen (SH48150). When Special Hobby first announced the SK 37E in 2015, there were some concerns voiced over the initial test-build.

It was the first canard-equipped aircraft to be produced in quantity and the first to carry an airborne digital central computer with integrated circuits for its avionics, arguably making it the most modern/advanced combat aircraft in Europe at the time of introduction.
