Mar 17, 2002 · The late model automotive spec SD33 were equipped with a oil jet block from the factory (also used in Nissan Patrol). It had the same size diameter and width main bearings as the turbocharged version. The earlier model automotive spec SD33 had no oil jet block. It's the same one used on the SD33 model Industrial spec Scouts.

Sep 6, 2005 · NA SD33's have the same rods and crank as the SD33T's. The Scout 1980 SD33T got the 5 ring pistons, piston oil squirters, and the larger oil cooler. SD33's built post 1980 are said to have the piston oil squirters. My Tug NA SD33 is post 1980 and it has an oil cooler that is larger than my Scout SD33T had. Pistons this is the rub what do you have?

Nov 15, 2005 · It came with a computer print out of the testing on that particular alternator and it actually hit 102 amps peak output at 5000 rpm, but it won't be turning that fast on the SD33. Taking in to account the pulley sizes and engine rpm I should be around 70+/- amps when going down the road but a lot less when idling based on the amp output curve ...

Put a 196 Scout up against a Diesel Scout and the Diesel Scout will kick it's step-bumper all over the playground. For it's size, and age, the SD33T is one kick-butt engine.

Nov 25, 2013 · Simple physics, metal grows under heated conditions. Why else would the SD33(76-79) mostly have one tip washer? And why would SD33T (1980 Engines) have Neck and Flat tip washers. Oh, lets not forget, why would SD33 engines after 1983 have Neck and a very groovy looking tip washer? Cheers!

Jan 27, 2011 · The Diesel uses the same clutch disc and pressure plate as a V-8 ScoutII. The only differences being the pilot bearing for the SD33 is a different size. One thing you need to consider is the measurement you are looking for can vary due to flywheel surfacing. I have 3 SD33's on the shop floor, all of them with clutches installed.
