Jun 29, 2019 · The Scar 17, in my opinion, is the jack of all trades, master of none. Due to the pencil profile barrel and lack of consistency when warm and suppressed, I bought the Scar 13.5 inch barrel and SBR'd mine, and have much better results now.

Apr 3, 2022 · The Scar 17 is infamous for killing optics so which one is the right choice? The Elcan 1.5-6 is a nice rigid option but it seems like the theres a cap on range and adjustablity. LPVO 1-6/8/10 is a considerable choice but I feel like I either use 1 or 6/8/10 on my current LPVO and nothing in between.

Jun 3, 2013 · The SCAR 17 really loves 168gr pills and less due to the 1:12" twist FNH selected. 175-178's do ok but not as repeatable accuracy like 168's IME, I had the same experience trying to workup handloads 168's were consistently more accurate/preferred by the rifle.

Oct 26, 2017 · I went with a Scar 17 and Trijicon Accupower 1-8x28 and I enjoy it for the DMR set-up. I wouldn't put a high magnification optic on the Scar, reason being is I have found the mechanical accuracy of the rifle is ~1.6 MOA. If you want to push out your distance go ahead and get that Leupold on it.

Feb 7, 2017 · I have the 2" Savvy Sniper on my SCAR 17 and really like it. I got the sling based on recommendations from this thread and a video review on Military Arms Channel. I got the 2" model since my SCAR usually has a 4x16 scope on it. I've also used this sling on my AR-15s and on an AK and it works great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Feb 17, 2018 · I ran through the "Whats the best scope for scar 17" for about a year!!!! It was pain staking. I am not the only one. There are many on other forums who struggle with the same dilemma. The 17 really is a battle rifle! Light like an ar15 for cqb, but accurate enough to be a designated marksman rifle out to 800.
