Mar 31, 2013 · I know, I know, old thread. But I'm leaving this anyway. My vin search on my 2000 s10 LS says it's a long bed. People say vin does not give bed length. But when I searched mine it said that it was long bed. I measured it. It's 72.5 inches so its a std. Cab fleetside short bed.

Nov 15, 2010 · I found a used short bed-liner and I have a 98 s10 SL extended cab. This should work right? there's only 2 bed sizes long and short bed or is there a "regular" bed size in the mix?

Oct 21, 2010 · Cab size has nothing to do with a cover fitting the bed. There's the short bed (6') and long bed (8'). You could only get a long bed with a regular cab though. The only exception is if you have a crew cab which has a super short bed but it's unique to the crew cabs.

Nov 5, 2009 · I have a 1982 long bed s10 already converted to V8. What would converting it to short bed entail. More work than its worth? I really like the look of shortbed better. I am not going to be happy with longbed.

Oct 7, 2014 · The bed would have to be shortened on both ends based off the centerline of the wheel well, which of course is predetermined by the location of the axle on the frame that you'd also have to shorten. Standard cab Long bed wheel base is 2,995 mm, standard cab shortbed wheelbase is 2,751 mm, so you must relocate the axle 244 mm forward and base your bed measurements off that.
