At RootEd we decided to seek out these questions, listen to them intently and follow through, but showing our audience that we are indeed, thinking about these concerns. But why debate? For an argument to be fair, it is extremely important to understand that there can be differing viewpoints and it is important to hear them all out.

Along with Dr. Apoorva Jayaram, she recently co-founded RootEd, an arts initiative that centralizes the reengaging of the audiences with the Indian classical arts. While teaching is first love for the dancer, she also volunteers her time and skill in projects that aim to present the Indian performing arts amidst mainstream audiences.

Apr 15, 2021 · A year ago, RootEd materialized out of many inspired, curious and enthusiastic conversations between Apoorva Jayaraman and Sumathi Vikram, dancers, co-founders, colleagues, and long-time friends. They were soon joined by Ashaa Vigashini, who soon became an integral part of the team, and now heads logistics and tech support.
