It would seem I can't simply insert the "Room Number" parameter into any tag that is not a room tag, likewise I can't seem to incorporate the "Room Number" parameter as part of a model family, even with the Room Calculation Point turned on.

Aug 2, 2021 · It's easy to create your own room tag. Just draw the box, add a few pieces of text (name, number, width, depth, X). Then use the create tag tool. Before you do that, have you bothered to look in the "documentation tool catalog - imperial" under schedule tags<room tags? I would try the room tag with dimensions before creating my own.

Dec 9, 2015 · We are MEP engineers. We Link the architects model, turn on Room Bounding, and utilize Room Tags (not spaces or space tags) to show room numbers. On large projects finding specific room can be difficult. But Rooms schedules DO NOT HIGHLIGHT (called 'Show') the room boundry or tag, the way they do when the room is present in the current MEP file.

The auto part only applies to generating the next number when the property is applied to a new object - after that, it is just like any other manual property, and is subject to Property Data Overrides.

The Space can access the associated Room's Name and Number, while having its own Name and Number Parameters³. This means that you can create a Space Schedule and include both the Spaces' and the Rooms' data.

I thought of changing the Room tag to a shared parameter and reloading it into the project and overwriting the existing tag, but then I will have to change all built in room number parameter values to the new shared parameter (which maybe dynamo could do).

Feb 19, 2019 · You cannot use the system Room number because it is a text parameter and the model text is a multi-line text parameter. They are different. You need to create a new shared multi-line text parameter and use it to label the model text in the family, then load the same parameter in the project and assign to Rooms category.
