The Daegu-class frigate is a class of guided missile frigates of the Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN). The Daegu-class is based on the preceding Incheon-class frigate, and has otherwise been referred to an Incheon-class batch II, or FFG-II. Eight ships are planned, with the final goal of 20-22 frigates (of all types) in the ROKN.

The commissioning ceremony took place at Jinhae Naval Base on 4 January 2021. Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) launched the frigate in June 2019.

Nov 13, 2019 · The ship, which will be the future ROKS Seoul (FFG-821), is scheduled to be delivered to the ROKN by first quarter of 2021, coinciding with its 74th founding anniversary. Two other ships of the class, the ROKS Daegu (FF-818) entered service with the ROKN on March 2018, while Gyeongnam (FFG-819) was launched on June 2019.
