Feb 23, 2012 · Sophie is new to all of this. Wasn’t eating and ran lab tests High triglycerides. Started on I/d from vet. Ok for 2 days. Mixed with dog food and back to no eating next day. Started on rimadyl and 1/2 Pepcid for the day she was good ! Vet suggested Antinol.

Jan 26, 2010 · It's in the same class of drugs as Rimadyl, Deramaxx, aspirin, Metacam, etc. There's really no difference in side effects overall. For the individual dog, side effects might vary. Some dogs get along with one but not the others, etc. Tramadol would be worth trying if your dog doesn't get along with NSAIDs. It too has side effects.

Oct 24, 2016 · Don, everything I've found says NSAIDs (Rimadyl) and antihistamines (Benadryl) can be given together. There is no known interaction between the two drugs unless the patient has an allergy to either drug. I even found an online "ask a vet" site that ask this specific question and the vet said it was safe. But, of course, I am not a vet

May 25, 2011 · What your giving is generic rimadyl. It's dispensed to all breeds of dogs including greyhounds everyday (and cats in Europe). NO drug is without side effects. Gi tract symptoms - vomiting and diarrhea are most likely the most common side effect, however, liver and kidney issues are also mentioned.

I've always said, "I'd never put my dogs on Rimadyl unless it was my absolute last option." Well, unfortunately it is. TeddyBear has severe hip dysplagia, spinal spondlysis, a left wrist deformed from arthritis, and now elbow issues.

Oct 13, 2009 · Rimadyl also got some negative press a while back for causing liver problems in dogs All of the NSAID's can cause liver/kidney problems, not just Rimadyl. That's why the 6 month profiles are done.

Dec 5, 2013 · With pain meds, I don't hesitate to use them well after expiration. I've used Previcox, Rimadyl, and Tramadol that were 4-5 years past the expiration date, and they worked just fine. Prednisone is good for a while too. The vitamin B injection is one that you probably shouldn't keep on hand.

Mar 29, 2019 · Interesting. She is on Famotidine for vomiting randomly for the last year. Tonight she threw up, and has been siphoning water down like crazy. I had no idea that Rimadyl would cause stomach issues. GAH..... The vet did call back …
