Feb 18, 2018 · 1. The F228Be measures comparably well. 2. I did the blind mono test at Harman HQ and found that the F228Be was almost indistinguishable from the Salon2! 3. I did a non-blind test at the Harman Store in NYC and marginally preferred the Studio2 to the F228Be. 4. I bought the Studio2s partly for the sound, partly for the appearance.

Sep 25, 2018 · I just received my new Revel F228BE speakers and after only about 12 hours on them i must say they sound absolutely amazing. Spectacular mids and highs, great solid and detailed rhythmic bass. Everything i loved about the F206s and F208s but much more refined, better bass, better soundstage and hear deaper into the music.

But then it sat in the garage because I could not figure out how to carry it to our loft to listen to it. I almost post just the measurements but then I thought questions of sound and comparison against my Revel Salon 2 would come from every angle.

Jul 11, 2020 · The F228Be should have roughly twice the swept volume as the F226Be. So given they have the same sensitivity, one would expect lower frequencies for the breakpoints in the F228Be bass response. Harman's quoted spec for the F228Be are 30 Hz (-10dB); 33 Hz (-6dB); 44 Hz (-3dB). All of which are roughly 3Hz lower than the F226Be.

Jul 5, 2021 · The f228be was built to fill a gap in the revel lineup and their listening tests show almost no preference in the f208, f228be and salon 2 so smart money would be the f208 unless you're one of those crazy audiophiles that loves to throw money away.

Jul 19, 2018 · After doing a lot of reading (especially here, and other places), I've gravitated towards the Revel F208 and F228Be speakers as possible upgrades. $5K vs $10K for the pair. Fairly big difference in price, and I'm trying to get a handle on the "is it worth it and will I hear the difference" question.
