In 2009 the Renon Cable Car was renovated and replaced by a new 3S cable car. It starts from the Via Renon road near the old town of Bolzano and takes visitors to Soprabolzano at 1,221 m a.s.l. Eight large cabins with panorama windows start every four minutes and take 30 people each in 12 minutes to the Renon.
