Nordic does the same thing, probably for the same reason, because although it costs more than a one piece to make, it is the better way to go for the reasons outlined.

Mar 22, 2010 · You hit the extension hard enough with no clamp (Any brand), you can break the threads off leaving you with a single shot 870 while your spring, shells, and extension goes flying off. Since magazine tubes are brazed into place on the 870, your shotgun is heading on a trip to the Remington factory in Illion, NY for repair.

Sep 4, 2012 · I have an 870 Tactical with 18" barrel and a custom 7+1 magazine tube even with the muzzle. Buy an extension longer than what you're going to need, measure and shorten it with a pipe cutter. Pipe cutters crimp the edges inward and you can use a piece of plastic to fill in the end. A follower or spring retainer would work too.

Oct 26, 2012 · Remington 870 with a Wilson Combat +2 extension. I've done everything that I can think of. There are no dimples or anything to jam - tube is oiled and nice and smooth. I've replaced the factory follower and a Wilson Combat follower with an S&J Hardware follower. I've also got a Wolff extra power spring in there. The tube is tightened completely.
