May 27, 2023 · Rebecca Ness, a queer 30-year-old artist from Brooklyn, has no problem being compared to the 20th-century American painter Norman Rockwell. “I am always confused when people ask what I feel about that,” says Ness (’15).

Rebecca Ness: Capturing the Essence of Place and Presence — From Brooklyn to the World. Rebecca Ness (b. 1992, Salem, MA) received her MFA from Yale School of Art and her BFA from Boston University. Over the past four years, she has enjoyed solo shows in New York, Paris, London, Los Angeles, Cologne, Germany, and Seoul, Korea.

Apr 20, 2024 · Jessica Silverman is pleased to announce “Portraits of Place,” a solo show of seven oil paintings by Rebecca Ness, which runs between March 8 and April 20. Influenced by an eccentric range of figurative artists, including Bruegel the Elder, Alice Neel, and Norman Rockwell, Ness is a virtuoso painter of her social world.
