Jan 8, 2009 · The Neo actually was released as a lev (low emissions vehicle) engine which meant that it had restrictions on it and is actually a piece because if you look to spec has journal bearing turbos which wear out too fast and are just a problem waiting to happen. the plain jane old rb25det is better and easier to tune and has 2 ball bearing turbos which are the best setup to get.

Mar 10, 2009 · I had a high flow rb25 turbo (with the VG30 ext housing) and my r33 rb25, with tomei poncams and extensive race head porting, managed to produce a respectable 268rwkw. When i upgraded to the GTRS turbo, i sold the high flow to a mate with an r34. The 100% stock/unopened neo engine made 273rwkw using the same turbo on the same dyno.

There's really no point in reinventing the wheel when engineers at Nissan have already done most of the work for you.
Tuning RB25DET NEO - Driftworks Forum
Nov 14, 2015 · The above will give you 500hp. Which is bonkers levels of power. If you want anymore than 500 reliably then you're better of fitting pistons. The NEO engine will do more power, sure - but it's a question as to how long it lasts. Some will do 600 on a standard block no problems. Some crap out at 520.
