In 1937, the village became part of the Côtes du Rhône AOC. A few years earlier, the winemakers decided go back to their roots, and recommenced production of Vin Doux Naturel in Rasteau and the village was awarded cru status (for the VDN) in 1944.

Description to Rasteau AOC Area named after the commune of the same name in the southern section of the Rhône wine-growing region. The vineyards cover around 900 hectares of vines, mainly in the commune of Rasteau, but also partly in the communes of Cairanne and Sablet in the Département of Vaucluse .

Il est parfaitement adapté au terroir de Rasteau et à ses coteaux bien exposés, peu fertiles et secs. Issu de vieilles vignes, il produit des vins capiteux, structurés aux arômes de fruits mûrs et d’épices.
