Which NS Locomotives have rs5t horns? - Trainorders.com
The Leslie RS5T horns were the standard of the N&W locomotive fleet. So, for the current NS roster, that leaves the 1625-1635, 1636-1652, and 6073-6206 SD40-2 groups as the remaining units that were originally equipped with the RS5T's. They can also be found on a variety of other units on the current roster, having been applied as replacements.
Leslie RS5 horn components - Trainorders.com
Good day all, I'm going to take a look at a Leslie RS5 tomorrow and plan to purchase and restore it to as delivered condition. Can anyone out there tell me what trumpet numbers I should look for and possibly how to identify the type of horn based on the trumpets installed? The horn
Which Union Pacific locomotives have RS5T or P5 horns?
Good Afternoon. I was thinking about if any Union Pacific locomotives have any S5T/RS5T and or P5 horns. Do any of UP's locomotives have any S5T/RS5T or P5 horns? If so which ones are they? Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 03/28/17 13:12 by railfaneric.
How about a little horn education? - Trainorders.com
CN has become a big user of P5's, and yes, Leslie still makes horns, albeit much smaller quantities than in the past. Occasionally on NS I will see new P5's and what appear to be new Leslie RS5T's on some units. The horn on 6920 may well be a new purchase.

Shot 4: This was my train of the day before 244 arrived. Still consider it a 1B. It's train G93 shuttling intermodal to Whitaker in Austell with an ex N&W SD40-2 still equipped with the lovely sounds of a RS5T Horn. Shot 5 is another one of those intermodal shuttles between Whitaker in Austell and Inman in Atlanta.
Why are there so many varieties of horns? - Trainorders.com
Leslie horns have largely fallen from favor in the last 5 years; however there have been new RS5T horns found on NS recently, in addition to older RS5T's (many converted to RS5T from S5T) from the former N&W side of the family still in use on a variety of engines. inRVA Wrote: -----
Ex N&W SD40-2 horns - Trainorders.com
It likely has a Leslie RS5T, which was the N&W standard horn. Other than that, is would probably have a Nathan P5. It is set up to run long hood forward. If you can provide a pic of the horn, I could tell you for certain what it is.
Western Railroad Discussion > I've got a Slug - Trainorders.com
Thinking of one of Michael Palin's lines in the Dead Parrot sketch. If you're not a Monty Python fan, please forgive me. This is GMTX road slug 951, as seen in the IANR yard in Cedar Falls IA on February 20, 2025. Jeff Van Cleve photo, my collection. This slug was supposedly bu
CSX 4772 with an RS5T. - Trainorders.com
CSX SD70MAC 4772 has an RS5T horn according to recent pictures and videos of it. I think this is the only SD70MAC on any railroad with an RS5T.
What Horns did GE put on NEW (At the time) AC4400CW …
The last new US locomotives I know of that were delivered with RS5T's were KCS SD60's in the early 90's. By then, CSX had given up on Leslie, and their SD60's came with K5LA's. No US railroad bought AC4400CW's fitted with RS5T's from the factory.
