Sep 9, 2013 · RMU opened Joe Walton Stadium in 2005 and is the first on-campus football field named in honor of a head coach that started the program from scratch and served 20 years at the helm. The Colonials hosted Butler in the inaugural game at Joe Walton Stadium Sept. 17, 2005, in front of a standing-room-only crowd of 3,516, defeating the Bulldogs, 49-13.

It is home to the Robert Morris University Colonials football team and men's and women's lacrosse team. The facility opened in 2005 and was named for Colonials head football coach Joe Walton. The inaugural football game was played on September 17, 2005 when Robert Morris defeated Butler 49–13.

Oct 2, 2020 · RMU Athletics features three athletic facilities on the Moon Township campus as well as the RMU Island Sports Center, located on Neville Island and a 15-minute drive from campus. The UPMC Events Center opened in May of 2019 and is home to the RMU volleyball and men's and women's basketball programs.

UPMC Events Center is the new 4,000 seat arena at Robert Morris University. The arena is a multi-functional arena that hosts meetings, conferences, concerts, special events and is home to the RMU Colonials Men's and Women's Basketball and Women's Volleyball.

To enable the University to protect the rights and the safety of those attending, the following policies and procedures will apply to all home football games. An area has been established for tailgating known as “TAILGATE ALLEY” in the Washington Gravel Parking Lot on campus.

Joe Walton Stadium and Athletic Building constructed in 2005, is home to RMU Colonial football, lacrosse, soccer, field hockey and intramurals. With a current seating capacity of 3,000, the stadium features a field surface of 97,000 square feet of synthetic Field Turf.
