Aug 31, 2007 · I have an R1200S and just joined the forum I hear a lot of good things about the R1200S. I just got one last June after a test ride and am loving it. I have made about 8,000 miles and enjoy every second. it is so much fun. It is so easy to ride and handles the curves great. Taking it cross country in three weeks.

Nov 22, 2013 · Just to document, the R1200S engine is the highest horsepower rated version of all hexheads--122 hp. This is more than any camhead, save, I imagine, for the HP2. Same hierarcy for Oilheads, too, i.e R1100S at 98 the highest.

Jul 22, 2017 · The BikeMaster Lithium Ion battery DLFP14-BS fits like a glove into the battery compartment of my 2007 R1200S. No shims needed at all, and well secured by the factory retaining strap. The special charger hasn't arrived yet, but the battery was charged up enough to crank the engine without any problems.

Apr 18, 2008 · Ride an R1200S aggressively here and very pleased with the Metzeler Sportec M3's that came with the bike new. Have continued to place them. Never once have they given me a reason to lose confidence in them. Very important to me. I can get about 3.5-4K out of the rear. Not the best longevity but can't deny its grip in all kinds of conditions. HTH.

Apr 30, 2020 · I’m curious about the value of a R1200S. It’s yellow, custom seat, ABS, wide rear tire, Ohlins, Full SS exhaust system. 42,000 miles, good mechanical condition, fair cosmetic. I have the stock exhaust system for it. May sell or trade it in for a late model R1200/1250RT.

Nov 11, 2007 · Kinda like the R1200ST. BMW NA no longer imported it while it remained available overseas. There is an '08 R1200S but not for sale in the U.S. You can talk to your dealer about this and see if they can get you one, but I wouldn't be optimistic. There is no change for '08 and the dealer would probably try to get an unsold '07 from another dealer.

Jan 13, 2014 · I've got a 2007 R1200S that last night, simply decided it was not going to shift anymore. I was riding along, and about a couple of miles before the problem heard a clunk and the bike jerked, like an abrupt gear change, but I'm pretty sure it did not go into a different gear.

Dec 19, 2015 · Acquired a 2007 R1200S this summer and I love it. But I'm not loving my 58 year old neck after a 5 or 6 hour ride. It came with heli-bars. Does anyone know if it's possible to raise the handle bars further?
