The tapered point is for boring holes, the blade configuration for whittling and hunting, fishing and agricultural uses.

Not a traditional Puukko like I am used to, but a modernized version. The blade is not straight backed, nor does it have a clip point like a couple of my other puukko’s have, but it is a slight drop point.

Jun 21, 2010 · It balances well and should be a dependable, enjoyable knife. However for the money I expect Iisakki Järvenpää to have their act together. A $100 puukko should not be lagging behind a $20 Mora in terms of fit and finish. At least get the bevels clean and even, I'll happily overlook the rest. On to the pictures! Right out of the box.

Orijärvi puukko, original of Fiskars, takes the name from an iron mine used in 1850-60s near this lake in Mikkeli area. Common at that time, now almost forgotten. Feb 18, 2017 · Pastor Chris gifted me this fantastic old Puukko in the BCUSA X-mas gift exchange. I love puukkos, especially vintage ones. From what I can tell by looking at the style, it's a Luomanen Puukko from the 1930's and made in Kauhava. The knife and sheath are in fantastic shape for a tool being nearly 90 years old.
