Apr 27, 2020 · Borosilicate glass is much better for heating applications than soda lime glass. For most 3d printing, it shouldn't matter, but given my choice I'd go borosilicate. What glass is used in a scanner though, beats me.

Apr 1, 2018 · You could bead/sand blast the glass to get the frosted finish. The reason I would avoid buying already frosted glass is because the glass used in heat beds is a special kind of glass known as Borosilicate glass. I doubt any frosted glass you find would be this kind of glass.

Sep 16, 2022 · Has anyone tried using glass as the print bed/surface on the x1 carbon? It would be interesting to see how well it works on this printer. I use G10 and it works great. Got the inspiration from a guide on printables on using glass along with a clip design to print to retain the glass on the bed.

Sep 3, 2006 · If you cannot reposition your cards to avoid the scratch, the only semi-good option is to go to the scanner website and find out how much $ the replacement bed-glass is. You might find a used scanner of the same model for less than the cost of the glass, but I do not know.
