Rail connections into Port Arthur from Fort William to the south from an historical perspective are complex. The majority of the original route used by the PAD&WR/CNoR stemmed from two lines, being the Prince Arthur’s Landing & Kaministiquia Railway (route south to Fort William) and the Thunder Bay Colonization Railway (access to the harbour).
