Jun 27, 2016 · I am trying to repair a leak in the plastic tubing pictured. This tubing is connected to an air conditioner's condensate pump (water runs through it whenever the pump turns on). The leak is occurring right at the junction between the brown tube and the clear tube - somewhere near/behind the metal collar.

Then run painters tape along the edge to seal the plastic to the ceiling if needed.

The gasket is soft - it shapes itself to the underside of the sink and compresses to form a tight seal. The washer is rigid and will not seal itself to the underside of the sink. You need the gasket between the washer and the sink, with the plastic nut putting pressure on the washer to evenly distribute pressure over the entire gasket.

If the plastic (6 mil min) is not large enough to cover the entire envelope in one piece, it should be installed at the bottom first, overlapped so water runs over the lap downhill, and taped at all joints.

May 29, 2022 · So to help clarify, in that cavity in the pictures, if I stick my finger inside you can feel a hole which is the overflow dumping into this opening. It's clogged with muck (that's just something I need to clean) but indeed I'm convinced this was a hard plastic seal to protect what is underneath: OSB/fiberboard.
