Jul 25, 2023 · Pioneer kit was extremely good in those days and if I eventually decide to stick with a vintage system I would have one of those amps again in a heartbeat if I could find an affordable example in serviced condition. It would certainly make a nice match with my PL12D turntable from the same period.

Dec 22, 2006 · For the very best sound, separates are the way to go. For me it would definitely be the Pioneer SPEC-1 and SPEC-2. Add the TX-9500 or TX-9500 II and that's about as good as it gets.

Jan 8, 2007 · My concern is that the crossover may be built for the doors, w/ off-axis and phase issues already quelled. Whereas, an active x-over would lose some of that magic. Most people are saying that they sound amazing in the door, and off axis. I am curious how this turns out.
