Surface pen does not write but the buttons work. How can I fix it?
Feb 5, 2023 · I have a Surface Pen with no clip. I am using my pen with my Surface Pro 6. My screen is working perfectly, it even detects the backside of the pen, it is just the tip of the pen is not detected by the screen (I tried switching the tip but it did not make a difference) beside this, the screen works with touch as well.

You can also use the eraser or lasso tool to edit your notes. To convert your stylus text into typed text, select the Lasso Select tool and drag it around the text you want to convert.

Aug 24, 2021 · Remove and reseat the pen tip (either by fingertip or extraction tool). Test on known app. Reseat the AAAA battery in the pen, and test on known app (Change the battery in Surface Pen). Open pen and remove and reinstall the same battery to ensure good connection. Mar 7, 2020 · Right click on Surface Pen Digitizer and Surface Pen Settings and select "uninstall device". Expand Bluetooth. Right-click on Surface Pen and select "uninstall device". Expand Firmware. Right-click on Surface Touch if it's a Surface device and select "uninstall device". Then, restart the device to reinstall the drivers back.

Jun 16, 2023 · I've tried every solution that has been listed and my pen still won't write. The eraser buttons work fine, but the pen will still not write. The touch screen on my surface works fine with my finger. I even purchased a new slim pen 2 thinking the pen was bad, but I get the same issue with the new pen. Please help. Chad

May 28, 2020 · All 3 seem to have the issues as well as finger navigation not being recognised as a non-pen. i.e. Write on the PDF with pen and scrolling through page with a finger / thumb used to work with legacy Edge but in Chromium Edge, it seems to all register as an attempt to mark on the document (drawing lines instead of scrolling).
