A stormtrooper with a pauldron is usually better trained and has a slightly higher rank than a normal stormie. But orange is a commander according to Fallen Order and White is a Sergeant like what was previously said. When Rebels came out, I dont believe they had established that. Back then i thought I red pauldron denoted the rank of a major.

Jul 12, 2023 · Hi I am currently building my Salamander army and I am trying to identify these should pauldrons. I follow the manual as best as I can. On one of them it has a studded Pauldron on the right arm. Now the colour scheme for the normal pauldrons is black and a green edge. Should this pauldron be different in colour scheme?

Jul 18, 2023 · Not really, it's mostly tied to the armour mark but they're also often customised. Generally higher rank / experience = more ornate or distinct pauldrons as they've likely earned more honours by then and the pauldrons are a good place to display those, but the shape is still usually based on the mark underneath

Apr 26, 2019 · Its their pauldron to start with - they take their armor with them and bring it back. Its just repainted during service. As for keeping that pauldron painted, that will depend on the individual chapter's culture. But probably for most of them. Astartes are very big on the pageantry.

I ask this because I've been seeing some dark angels minis with theyr pauldrons painted red and the decal white and I was thinking about doing the same for mine, but I want to keep them as lore-friendly as possible. Feb 4, 2017 · Single leather pauldron is questionable, because we don't really know for certain that leather "plate" was a thing. A single steel or scale pauldron I would find believable, but it would look really weird if that was the only armour you had.

The molecular bonding studs on this shoulder pad are a hang-over from the days of the Horus Heresy when armour was in short supply. They hold an extra layer of armour to the shoulder pad facing the enemy. The placement of the studs means that the Chapter symbol is moved to the opposite pauldron.
