
I hear all different things about stormtrooper pauldrons, so
A stormtrooper with a pauldron is usually better trained and has a slightly higher rank than a normal stormie. But orange is a commander according to Fallen Order and White is a Sergeant like what was previously said. When Rebels came out, I dont believe they had established that. Back then i thought I red pauldron denoted the rank of a major.

Generally higher rank / experience = more ornate or distinct pauldrons as they've likely earned more honours by then and the pauldrons are a good place to display those, but the shape is still usually based on the mark underneath

Apr 26, 2019 · Its their pauldron to start with - they take their armor with them and bring it back. Its just repainted during service. As for keeping that pauldron painted, that will depend on the individual chapter's culture. But probably for most of them. Astartes are very big on the pageantry.
