Ernest Hemingway was affectionately known by many as Papa, yet we are honored to have with us today the only person who can truly call him by that name, Patrick Hemingway, Ernest’s sole surviving son, and one of the only voices remaining with firsthand knowledge of arguably the 20 th century’s greatest American writer.

Patrick (Mouse) Miller Hemingway. Patrick Hemingway (June 28, 1928-), conservationist, is the elder child of Ernest and Pauline Hemingway. He shares his father's middle name, a family name on Ernest Hemingway's mother's side. Patrick edited his father's story of the second African safari, posthumously published as True at First Light.
