Feb 22, 2024 · So the rumor is that the PS5 Pro is coming out later this year. If true, I'm planning to trade-in my current PS5 to offset the cost. My concern is that the PS5 trade in value might depreciate moderately when the new console comes out. Currently, the PS5 has a trade-in value of $357.50 for Pro Users plus an extra $50 as far as a promotion.

If you go to most retail/online outlets, right now, you can’t get a PS5. You can when Direct/Gamestop/GAME/etc get new stock which is happening a lot more often than when the console was first released But it is not as easy to get as the vast majority of consumer goods are, which is go to a store/online outlet and buy the thing.

So as an example, if you trade MW2 and Demon Soul's for the PS5 while buying a new game, you get $50 in trade credit which must be applied to the new game purchase instead of the $18+$13= $31 in trade credit you would normally get.

Jul 30, 2023 · Let's say the ps5 pro might come out in 2024 and I plan to trade in my ps5 when it comes out. Currently, gamestop offers up to $385 store credit if I trade in my ps5. Assuming ps5 pro launches at the same MSRP as ps5, then I end up just paying $165 extra including taxes to upgrade to a ps5 pro which is a very good deal.
