From my understanding those external fan attachments do more harm than good. Do you know how? Where that fan attaches to is an inlet for air, if the fans pull air out it will change the flow of air inside the console and compete with the factory fan trying to pull air in though that vent side.

Jul 30, 2007 · Ebay fans uses USB port which ties up a valuable PS3 port, robs PS3 of power via USB power drain which may heat PS3 up more, rather ugly, small and noisy fans with little air movements. It's not easily returnable and ? durability. Nothing worse than dead fans which blocks air flow even more.
