PRS TCI Pickups Explained | Official PRS Guitars Forum
May 13, 2022 · PRS claims this is better, but they still sell many guitars that split their humbucker by sending a coil to ground. Secondly, they allow for additional sound tuning when engaged. In the same way that a pickup has inherent capacitance, you can also add more capacitance to affect the sound before the signal leaves the guitar.
PRS 2024 finish formulation changed | Official PRS Guitars Forum
Oct 25, 2024 · This finish is thin, allowing our guitars to have a resonant, organic tone, to last and have the least issues with fading, chipping or other issues. The nitro finish also feels natural under your hand, elevating the playing experience from the moment you pick up the guitar. From 1985 – 2019, PRS used a polyester basecoat and an acrylic topcoat.
Bolt-on vs Set-Neck - I'm really hearing a tonal difference!
Apr 5, 2024 · The other PRS guitars I have are either bolt-on necks (three SE series CE24s - one w no top (Satin Std), maple top, and a Sandblasted Swamp Ash top), and one set-neck BUT semi-hollow body (SE Series Custom 22). The semi-hollow nature of the last one has a tonal influence all of its own outside the bolt-on vs set-neck consideration
Ultra-Light Private Stock Modern Eagle V! - Official PRS Guitars …
Jun 5, 2015 · It's been a long while, we are alive, well, and thriving! Enough small-talk, let's get to the good stuff. Absolutely stunning Private Stock Modern Eagle V in Faded Indigo. Crushing Quilt top on Swamp Ash with Semi-Hollow construction (6lbs 5oz) really steps up …
S2 Mira--the good and the bad | Official PRS Guitars Forum
Apr 28, 2016 · Just wanted to provide some feedback to PRS and get the community to weigh in as well. I recently got an S2 Mira. Some things were executed very well--the frets, fretboard, and general playability are great. The weight, feel, are very well balanced. But the guitar is a bit too light for me. The...
PRS with P90's? - Official PRS Guitars Forum
Mar 14, 2022 · I guess soapbar models must not be popular. If they were, PRS would make 'em. I've had a few, mostly McCarty Soapbars and CU 22 Soapbars (they were production models in the late '90s and early '00s) and currently have one of the limited run Soapbar 594s. They're wonderful guitars. If you can find one, snag it.
To PLEK or not to PLEK, that is the question - Official PRS Guitars …
Oct 30, 2023 · The only perfect fret job I have seen on any production line guitar was the EBMM. As much as I love PRS guitars, and the fret job wasn't bad on my Core, I bought new in 2021, the crown wasn't perfect. The Standard, I will most likely PLEK, is almost 25 years old and could benefit from a bit of attention.
Northern lights fading - Official PRS Guitars Forum
Jun 1, 2017 · It's nothing crazy chemically, it's just that PRS picked a non-light-stable dye. Just like Gibson's early cherry sunburst finishes in the 60's. They faded and gave us beautiful lemon bursts and such. Maybe some day these faded PRS guitars will be a status symbol like early Gibson bursts? Being new to PRS, this is the first I've read of this.
New DMO pickups in the 40th Anniversary Custom 24 | Official …
Aug 14, 2019 · Totally agree. PRS is well in the position to proudly brew the PRS thing. Looking backwards on Gibson and Fender always seemed like a missed opportunity to carve your own legacy Saying that, I can't wait to hear the DMOs with my own ears. From the limited YT clips I can hear good old PRS midrange, Santana Smooth with good chunk of presence.
