Jun 18, 2021 · Dragon IIs were pretty common in PRS guitars in the late 90s - 2000s if I remember right. They're okay-ish, particularly if you play either high-gain or super-super clean. PRS has learned a lot about pickups since then, and I'd take almost all of their newer 5X/YY pickups over Dragon IIs these days.

Jan 9, 2020 · I have a 2000 Custom 22 w/ Dragon II's and I absolutely love them. I play everything from Journey to Fates Warning and my guitar sounds amazing. To my ears it might be the best neck pickup I have ever heard.

The Dragon II is a modern high-output humbucker that can handle lots of gain, though while still having some vintage characteristics. It's right in between the vintage McCarty and the modern HFS humbucker.

Here are a set of PRS Dragon II pickups from a 2002 CU22. The cables are uncut. Just unsoldered. One neck (Bass). Measures 7.87K DCR. One bridge (Treble) Measures 12.47K DCR.
