Dec 8, 2022 · The PC-12 is unique to the PT6 in that many PT6 gauges read Ft-lbs, as you’re correct that it is an accurate unit of torque. However, this value displayed on a gauge is a conversion of oil pressure being read off the reduction gearbox.

A typical approach speed is about 80 knots with full flaps. The real PC-12 pilots like to land with flaps 30, but I think it is easier to make a smooth landing at flaps 40 (full flaps). A flaps-30 landing with some extra speed can result in 2000+ feet of floating over the runway.

Jul 6, 2016 · The PC-12 has Fowler type flaps, with the first 15 degrees (used for normal takeoffs), you are adding a lot of wing area instead vs camber (they have A LOT of aft movement vs down movement). I'm not an engineer so I probably don't know what I'm talking about, but I'm guessing the reduced wing area helps with cruise speeds but requires takeoff ...

What type of flaps does PC-12 use? How many flap positions? What controls the flaps? How are the flaps actuated? What happens if the PDU overheats? What happens if the FCWU detects asymmetrial flap actuation or twisting? Can pilot reset the FLAPS CAWS? What happens to pusher if FLAPS CAWS?
