Te Pou o Tainui marae (also referred to simply as Tainui marae) is located about 3 km northwest of Otaki township towards Otaki Beach. Its principal hapū is Ngāti Kapumanawawhiti of the Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga confederation.

Raukawa marae is located in Otaki, off State Highway 1. Its principal hapū are Ngāti Korokī, Ngāti Maiotaki and Ngāti Pare of an iwi confederation made up of Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga, Ngāti Toa Rangatira and Te Āti Awa.

The land entrusted to the Church is located next to Tainui Marae, the Turangawaewae of many from Ngati Kapu. This land contains a marae dedicated to Our Lady, Hine Nui o te Ao Katoa (Queen of the World).
