The model is 35" long and is powered by a Dumas 6V High Speed motor with a 2.5: MAS gear drive and a Hitek 6-10 ESC on 6 2000 mah cells. May 30, 2024 · When Orca is working right for me, it seems to give better print quality. But, I've had Orca do strange things that Cura doesn't. As an example, I was recently trying to print something sliced with Orca and after about 2-3 layers, the print head would keep moving around like it was printing but no filament was being fed into it.

Mar 13, 2025 · Yeah, with the new FW Orca can no longer talk directly to the printer. You need the Bambu Connect app to send Orca G-Code to the printer over the network. Bambu will let you downgrade to FW that doesn't require this. But I can't say if that downgrade actually works. My X1C has always run just fine. I haven't updated FW in probably 6+ months.

Feb 22, 2025 · Thanks for mentioning those settings Rocketman. There is a setting in Cura called connect infill lines which is probably the equivalent of what Paul was seeing with Orca there. I'm unfamiliar with Orca so that was helpful for me to know too.

Mar 18, 2025 · I tried the Orca 2D lattice and it works really well. No more using modifier to fake the slicer for 2D lattice infill. For those who like to use Spiral Vase mode for 2D lattice, I fake the slicer using modifier to create the continuous print in vase mode.
