Feb 21, 2024 · It will work, but you need a USB keyboard to setup the new Mac mini and then pair your older wireless keyboard. (fortunately most any inexpensive USB Logitech or PC keyboard will work with the Mac mini) Personally I keep around a Logitech MK120 Combo for setup and troubleshooting wireless issues.

However, it doesn't have the extended keys of newer keyboards, like volume up, volume down, mute. Is there a way to map these or are there shortcuts? (Ones for screen brightness would be cool as well.) A function key toggle would be great as well.

Nov 1, 2009 · Something is definetly wrong with the bluetooth. I managed to pair the keyboard yesterday after maybe 30 retries. Later that evening I took my laptop to living room and when I got back to my work room, the keyboard failed to connect again. I am sure the problem lies within the software updates since the keyboard worked flawlesly earlier.

My old 27in iMac (Late 2012) came with a different keyboard, which I like much better than the new style. It just feels better and I'm more comfortable typing with the older keyboard. I disconnected the new keyboard using the Bluetooth System.

Oct 17, 2024 · Yes the old AA battery powered keyboard, trackpad and mouse will work with the new Mac Mini. However you will need to use a USB keyboard and mouse to do the initial Mac mini setup and then pair the older keyboard, trackpad and mouse. FWIW most any USB Logitech or PC keyboard and mouse will work for the initial setup.
