Dec 20, 2024 · Although octane rating may affect stoich it cant be simplified as a percentage of octane (iso-octane) as he assumes. For example Methanol has a RON of 113 octane but has a stoich of @6.5:1 and Ethanol has a RON of 116 octane and has a stoich of @9:1. Both these fuels have alot more oxygen in them hence the lower stoic values.

Sep 24, 2013 · xylene and toluene are, really, no longer viable as cheap octane boosters unless you can source them at bulk rates I used to buy toluene for ~$25/5gallon can at a PPG auto paint place....and xylene was ~$1-2/gal more but those prices have doubled since then.s I used to mix 3qt toluene and 2qt xylene in ~10gal 93 octane....which was a great mix

If you don't believe me, remember this: Running straight methanol (I know you're talking about meth injection) will cool your intake charge so much that you can run without an intercooler.

Oct 27, 2011 · The problems with the race gas calculators is your going by octane numbers. E30 is estimated 93-95 octane. IMO it will suppress knock better than it's equivalent 93-95 octane std petrol fuels. Same with E85's 105 "rating". If your going to play with blends I think it would be a good idea to get an ethanol percentage meter on the return line.

Apr 14, 2006 · Any car setup (as in, tuned) for 87 octane will run best on 87 octane. Headers/exhaust contribute to reduced combustion chamber temperatures and reduce knock tendencies. Cams do much the same, increasing flow through the engine and reducing cylinder temperatures, and in turn tendency for knock.

Jul 30, 2008 · I guess I didnt really explain from the beginning that I was running 95 octane and not 91 octane. 95 oct was the same price as 91 oct until recently they jacked it up to $5.80. So now i am talking about the difference in price from 87 to 95 octane, which would be ~$14 a tank. I am just gonna try it today since im on E right now.

Here you can buy 100 octane for 6.50 to 7.00 a gallon at the pump or 112 octane leaded gas at the track for around 7.00 a gallon ( which you can only fill up if the track is open.

Nov 20, 2011 · 12oz (soda can worth) of Torco Accelerator in a 15gallon fill of ACN91 gives perfect 93 octane. Its what I run daily in SoCal so I can stick with the 93 octane maps. Ive proven it via many, many logging sessions... its not snake oil ots octane booster from pepboys.
