Nov 5, 2018 · Mate it’s not burn in, there is no content I have ever seen that would leave a line like that and nothing else on the screen, it has to be something funky going on with the compensation cycles, which is a fault with the screen. look at the picture of the red top there is no change in colour above or below the line and that’s the colour on the 2016 panels that goes first.

Feb 11, 2022 · In 2017 there was scientific talk of why burn in happened on rare occasions to 2017 and older OLEDs. Rehashing this scientific data on 2017 and older TVs is a marketing technique for rtings.com and Samsung or it gives some people a feeling of intellectualism. OLED burn in hasn't been worth worrying about for 5 years.

Jul 25, 2005 · Update from HP regarding my screen. After a week of me sending them photos to show the screen burn. They have offered to replace the screen under warranty. TBH, i am quite impressed, they didnt question it and will be collecting my laptop tomorrow with a 8 day turn around. They did offer a loan laptop but there is a months waiting list.

Nov 27, 2018 · OLED just doesn’t appear fit for purpose and retailers sell it, knowing about the screen burn issues and without adequate warning. They then seem to hide behind the “abuse” line of defence. How can using a tv as a tv be abuse?

Dec 4, 2007 · Am i right in thinking there's a difference between burn-in and retention.I forgot to turn my plasma off once for about 30mins and went in the other room and had image retention but after using the screensaver thingy it wiped it away after 10 mins so i reckon permanent burn-in is very rare and you'd have to really wack your contrast up on a still image and leave it for hours.

Feb 6, 2021 · Hi guys. I have a 2017 lg oled 55b7v It has the inevitable GMB burn in. Spoke to RS nice guy called Vlad. Very nice and polite but got the obligatory burn in not covered on warranty and slope shouldered to lg for a £200-£250 screen replacement.

There’s a video on YouTube from Linus about burn in and even though he only had temporary IR one of the guests on the video Wendell from Level1Techs did get permanent burn in on his LG CX.
