Net Zero Teesside Power (NZT Power) is a first-of-a-kind fully integrated gas-fired power and carbon capture project and a key driving force behind plans to make Teesside the UK’s first decarbonized industrial cluster.

NZT Power, a joint venture between bp and Equinor, could produce up to 742 megawatts of flexible, dispatchable low-carbon power – equivalent to the average annual electricity requirements of more than 1 million UK homes.

Dec 14, 2021 · The two groups will now design and submit development plans for NZT Power’s proposed power station and carbon capture plant, and NEP’s planned Teesside high pressure carbon dioxide (CO 2) compression and export facilities.

30 March 2023 – Net Zero Teesside Power (NZT Power) has been named on the Track 1 Negotiations Project List by The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) as part of Phase 2 of the Cluster Sequencing process for Carbon Capture Usage and Storage (CCUS).
