Nasirun lahir pada 1 Oktober 1965 di Cilacap, Jawa Tengah. Selama 1987-1994, Nasirun mendapat pendidikan seni di Fakultas Seni Rupa dan Desain, Institut Seni Rupa, Yogyakarta. Pada tahun 1993 Nasirun mengadakan pameran tunggal pertamanya, yaitu di Mirota Kampus dan Cafe Solo, Yogyakarta.
