Per the SDS, Ronsonol lighter fluid contains Aliphatic hydrocarbon,Hydrocarbons, C7-C9 (Heptane? Nonane?), n-alkanes, isoalkanes, cyclics.

Dec 29, 2022 · The boiling point you mentioned for Naphtha is wayyy too high. Naphtha is usually a mixture of hexane, heptane and a few other cyclo-alkanes. The different components have different boiling points, hexane is around 40-60 something... other components may have a higher boiling point, but I don't think it would be 160-220, that is way too high!

Mar 1, 2020 · Naphtha is an aggressive agent, it's viscosity is somewhat less than that of water... if there are any small unnoticed fissures, cracks, punctures, etc., the naphtha can wick it's way under the finish.. If that happens it will cause the wood to swell... making the crack worse.

Jan 8, 2019 · On my can of Caig D5, used for cleaning pots, I noticed after several years of use that the only ingredient listed on it is Naphtha. If you can get a name brand cigarette lighter fluid like Zippo or Ronsonol, it is pure naphtha, I once bought a dollar-store brand that obviously wasn't pure, it didn't work as well for cleaning guitars and such.
