He is best used for ganks and split pushing. If you can put in the time and have the skill Nakroth is very viable and not often banned so go for it. But a bad Nakroth or a Nakroth on a losing team that is behind struggles a lot and is really a burden to the team rather than a benefit so the time investment is definitely a necessity.
