Nakaseke District is a district in Central Uganda. It is named after Nakaseke, the largest town in the district. However, the district headquarters are located at Butalangu in Nakaseke Butalangu District 30km From Luweero town.

In Early 1980’s, the Current Nakaseke District was the Epicenter of the revolution that brought the National Resistance Movement to power. Following the Demand from Local leaders and the entire community to bring service nearer to them, Nakaseke District was Created by the Resolution of the Parliament of Uganda on 20th July 2005.

At Nakaseke Hospital in Nakaseke District, the NICU provides critical care for premature infants and newborns who face health complications shortly after birth This unit, staffed by specially trained nurses, has saved the lives of more than 3,000 newborns between 2018 and 2024.
