Turns out, NS (Former Southern, CTC SW1 #1002) was back from its stay on some R.J. Corman Line up north, and was on the way South in a special move. This engine has just about more history than diesel NS has had.

Recently I passed through Stearns Ky. and noticed a Southern SW1 sitting outside of the shops of the Big South Fork. Sorry but I did my best in getting a shot of it through the trees and brush. Does anyone have any info on it and what the plans are for it?

Norfolk Southern MP15DC #2412 at Danville,KY on NS's Central Division. Unit is lettered for NPBL(Norfolk and Portsmouth Belt Line). Along with the 2412 is MP15DC #2372.

In June of 2008, I got a heads up from a buddy that he had spotted a SW-1, in Corman colors, being towed South in a special train on the CNO&TP. Turns out the NS had found out what had happened to the engine and had taken it back. Now, to the happy ending. The NS sold the 1002 to the Gulf & Ohio in Knoxville.
