NGC 128 is a lenticular galaxy in the constellation Pisces. It is approximately 190 million light-years from the Sun and has a diameter of about 165,000 light-years. [2] NGC 128 was discovered by astronomer William Herschel on 25 December 1790 using a reflecting telescope with an aperture of 18.7 inches.

The LGG 6 group is composed of 11 galaxies including NGC 128, NGC 126, NGC 127 and NGC 130. Nearby MCG +0-2-45 is also associated with the group. NGC 128 itself appears to be interacting with NGC 127 and there is a tidal tail between the two.

NGC 128 is a tiny edge-on spiral galaxy distorted by tidal interaction with one or more neighboring galaxies. Walter Scott Houston wrote that he was able to view this galaxy in his 5-inch from a dark site. An 8-10 inch instrument will show the peculiar box-shape at the center.

NGC 128 is a Lenticular Galaxy in the Pisces constellation. NGC 128 is situated close to the celestial equator and, as such, it is at least partly visible from both hemispheres in certain times of the year.

Since it's not even in the Pocket Sky Atlas, I had my doubts, but I've come to realize that on this list there are distant open clusters that at 343x on my Obsession 18" look pretty fantastic, so I persist.
