Jan 9, 2023 · My Amazon Basics 3TB external drive works fine on both Windows 10 and Windows 11. Probably not quite as old as the WD unit but, as I recall, less expensive. My backup going forward is a two-drive docking station. It took around 5 minutes to see the hard drive I put in it. Once found it seems to work without delay. Patience paid off here.

Feb 10, 2020 · Network connectivity is not my wheelhouse, I'm a shell geek, but I had a similar issue with a drive connected to my router. I would map it, it would seem to function, but then weirdness. Long story short, what fixed it was adding the default router login info as a Windows credential : Since then, everything's been fine. Aug 28, 2015 · It does offer a scan to fix it but WD does not recommend it without backing everything up on the laptop hard drive first. This, without access to the WD external drive, is impossible. Is there a fix or a patch. OR can I "scan and fix" without losing any of my documents (all my research for a book) and about 10,000 pictures??!!! Help! Please.

Mar 14, 2016 · Hello, Since upgrading to Windows 10 I have had sporadic issues viewing the files from a WD My Book Live via file explorer. It historically has fixed itself when new Windows updates have installed but

WD My Book Live Duo 4TB - 192.168.0.7. WD My Book Live 3TB - 192.168.0.8 Both devices can be reached via their http address. Ping also works fine. Windows 10 detects both drives in the "Network" environment, both as Media and Storage devices. Via SMB I cannot reach the Live Duo device. Also setting up 'map network drive' doesn't work.

Jul 5, 2016 · I recently ran Check disk on my 12 TB WD My Book Duo external hard drive. Wasn't having an issue with the drive, but hadn't done a scan in a while. Check disk said some problems were found & fixed and said any files that were affected were moved to a "Found" folder on the drive. Your drive is now ready to use. The log showed:
