First Ancestor Fa (voiced by George Takei) is the eldest member of the Fa family and leader of the ancestors, who brings Mushu to life. When Mushu returns with Mulan, he restores his guardian position.

Mushu--in Mulan-- is voiced by Eddie Murphy (the same voice actor who voices Donkey from the Shrek franchise). However, in Mulan 2 , Eddie Murphy couldn't reprise his role as Mushu. This was due to a clause with his contract on voicing Donkey in Shrek 2.
